CLIENT REVIEW:

"Our 9th grade class visited Emeryville Martial Arts last Friday
for a 3 hour self-defense &

anti-bullying workshop. It was a fantastic experience for everyone! The instructor was super engaging and very attentive. She got everyone (including the teachers) up and moving. The students came back energized and couldn't stop talking about all the things they'd learned. One student said, 'It was the best workshop ever!' Thank you Sensei Terri!"

Mat work teaches the vital skills of rolling and falling which enhance a student's versatility in self-defense situations. Advanced students can be taught a variety of weapons: Short sticks (tambos) long sticks (bo), nunchakus, and sai.

CLIENT REVIEWS:

"Terri was incredibly helpful. She gave me two private lessons preparing me for self defense (body lang, verbal and physical skills) for me to use when traveling the world alone. I highly recommend using her as a resource. She tailored my lessons to my needs, was personable, and I learned a ton and gained confidence! Thanks Terri!" Emma L.

"A few weeks ago, I read a story about someone who was assaulted while walking down the street. It made me wonder... What would I do? How would I react? That’s when I decided to take a self-defense class with Master Terri. She taught me that, no matter your size or build, there are moves you can use to create space and time between you and an attacker, giving you a chance to escape.

Master Terri covered real-life situations and shared simple strategies for defending yourself. I hope I never have to use anything I learned, but if I ever find myself in a dangerous situation, I’m hoping the muscle memory will kick in to help me react quickly and effectively. If you ever get the opportunity to take a class with her - do it!"       -Emma P
